Sponsor Daphne Maia’s 10KM run for the Breast Cancer Foundation

So I’ve signed up for the Great Eastern Women 10K run on 26 October 2008, for a donation of $100 to the Singapore Breast Cancer Foundation, half of which is “sponsored” by a good friend of mine, who readily agreed to fork out $50 when I told him about it.

I will donate $50 myself, to make up the $100. But here’s the deal:

I had an idea. If you (anyone) sponsor a minimum of $10, I will:

- Run the full 10km
- Take photos (and videos) during the race
- Give you a mention in the video
- Blog about it (with unglamourous photos and videos)
- Link your blog in my blog entry as a donor (with photo, if you want)
- Include you in the list of donors for “Daphne Maia’s 10KM run for Breast Cancer Foundation”

(all donations must be confirmed by Saturday 25 Oct 2008, 2359 hours)

I have never run a race this far, but as my friend says, “There’s always a first time!” And I figured, since I’m gonna do it, why not try to raise more money for the Breast Cancer Foundation?

So why don’t you donate to the Breast Cancer Foundation now, through my race? I will put up a list of people who donated, plus a copy of the official receipt for the donation, on my blog after the race.

Isn’t that a good deal? For $10 you can contribute towards the foundation meaningfully, get a blogger to plug your blog, and get to see super unglamourous photos of me!

This race is dedicated to all the women out there, especially those who have fought or are fighting Breast Cancer, and all who have lost a beloved one to Breast Cancer. Breast Cancer is the 5th most common cause of cancer deaths in the world.

wow.. running for a cause, I signed up for the 10km Standard Chartered Marathon, and it’s only running for myself, if only I’m doing so for something more worthwhile.
